For the last meal of the day at Epcot, we had to choose a spot for dinner and believe me, it was a difficult decision. We ended up choosing Nine Dragons, as it was a sit-down restaurant and my friend craved Chinese food. We arrived at around 8:30 to a near-empty restaurant and were afraid we would miss the Illuminations fireworks show. But the waitress wouldn't let us sit by the windows with the view because we were only a party of two and those tables were only for parties of four. For the next thirty minutes, no one else even walked into the place so we were a little annoyed that we didn't get to sit by the window. After much debate, I ordered the sweet-and-sour pork and spinach noodles and my friend had a tofu stir-fry. Mine was good, especially the noodles, but it was one of the greasiest dishes I've ever ordered. I should've been good and ordered my friend's tofu. I felt that the prices were expensive and the service was okay. Given the choice again, I would have chosen another country's food.

My first 1 star rating. This place was HORRIBLE. The decor was nice enough, your basic cookie cutter Chinese. It took forever to get our drink order, and then another 12 years to get our food. The food is the reason for this poor rating. It was the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my entire life. I was absolutely shocked that a company as reputable as Disney would allow such a travesty to bear its name. I ordered the Five Spiced Fish, figuring I would be safe. Five Spice is an Asian staple, white fish and rice....can't mess that up right? WRONG. The fish were literally drowning in the sauce that it came in. When a sauce is good, you don't mind this. This sauce was miserable. It tasted like a rookie chef had just dumped an entire bottle of five spice into it....or had been over at the Mexican tequila bar on his lunch break and wasn't paying attention. The fish was overcooked and I'm assuming the fish drowning in this miserable soulless sauce was an attempt to infuse some moisture back into this dish. All jokes aside, I adore spicy food and can handle some hot stuff baby, but, this was clearly not a palate issue. I ended up just eating my rice, drinking my water, and leaving to go have a Tsingtao from one of the outside vendors and I wish spent that 90 minutes in another restaurant.

This food was good. Personally, being from New York, we have alot of really great Chinese restaurants, so it is hard to even compare. However, the food was good and our waiter was nice. Nothing completely stood out to me. I believe my guy and I shared seasame chicken or something of that nature. Would I come back, yes. But, there are other places in epcot that I would try to get to first.

Very good and authentic Chinese! Hard to get a seat for dinner, but worth it! They come around on a little cart and have all kinds of cool things.

We ate here on our recent trip and my opinion is mixed. Good: Service was prompt and courteous. Decor and overall feel of the restaurant was very nice. I ordered the fish entree and my wife had a shrimp entree which were both very good. Bad: Price. This meal was expensive even by Disney standards. It wasn't a very good value. The rice served to the side of my meal was HORRIBLE. Barely warm and extremely overcooked. The appetizer for 2 was 6 small dumplings (for $2 each). Glad we didn't try to split a normal appetizer. The lo mein kids meal was pretty bad. The lo mein was noodles only and they were very bland. My advice is to pass on this restaurant. There are several better choices for the same or less money which will leave you much happier.

Service was good. Some food was outstanding and some lacked taste that we wouldn't order, again. We would go, again, but would not go out of our way to. We could take it or leave it. Did not like the rice pudding..........

I have never been to a Chinese restaurant that was less Chinese. What a joke. And in the world showcase no less! Walt Disney would be saddened. Dining here with kids you would think they have a childs favorite chinese dish "chicken lo mein" .... Nope .... They have meatball lo mein .... It was disgusting. Didn't even taste like lo mein. How do u mess up lo mein? Nuf said.

Not the most authentic Chinese food, but very typical example of American style Chinese food. In other words, this is what you would expect going to a Chinese restaurant in the US. The food is good, the service was great, our table was ready right on time. Given my experience at other park restaurants, this made it a great place. That is another point to add: When compared to the other park restaurants, I think this place is easily 4 stars. I can't really give it 4 stars compared to other restaurants outside the park, because it was pretty average compared to them. The prices are what you expect at Disney, the food was very good for a park restaurant, there was a lot of it, and the lack of wait was amazing. When I go back to Epcot, I will definitely be eating here again.

Gets a C, I didn't feel like it was bad but I don't ever think I will feel the need to go back. Food was okay, not great not memorable just meh.

We ordered the honey sesame chicken (my fave!), stir fried vegetables, and the noodles where you mix it yourself.. The veggies were alright and the noodles aren't something I would order again.. but the chicken was nice and crispy with just the right amount of sweetness to it. I often dine here when in the area but after this trip it just isn't the same..

average Chinese food. Theres nothing authentic about this place. I would opt for the Bier Garden in Germany - better value, better food, and a more fun & vibrant atmosphere.

I liked it, although I only went once? It is very beautiful with the decor and the huge dragon. A lot of Red. I don't know why I mention that, but the bright red and gold stand out. Very ornate. Cantonese, Mongolian, Szechuan, Hunan and Kiangche-style specialties. It's pricey, but not really more so than the other Big Epcot restaurants. For lunch I had Peppery Shrimp with Spinach Noodles and the Shrimp Summer Rolls and they were good! My Mother had the Shrimp & Ham Fried Rice and it was too much so she shared. It was chock full of fresh veggies, shrimp and ham and had a chili flavor in it that was remarkable! I love going out to eat with Mom, good company and you get a taste! Would I go back, yes, but probably after I fit in the places I have not tried and returning to those I love!

Just because it's Disney does not mean it's perfect. Yup...I used to work there...I know. For being Chinese, I must also say I am highly critical of places who claim to be authentic Chinese. Herein lies my comments: - Decor...yup...you get it...Disney perfect version of "Chinese" themed restaurant. - Food...ok...pot stickers were good for appetizers. Hot and Sour Soup...passable. But when my sesame chicken had a piece of hair on one of the last pieces of chicken...(ok...that's a hygene issue that is not very sanitary). - Service...after telling them about the "hair" incident. The manager was summoned to examine the evidence. He did. And considering that I have a clipped haircut, there is not doubt whatsoever that a 3 inch strand could come from me...He came back and told me that he will take it off my bill... In conclusion...WILL REFUSE TO EAT THERE.

Seven of us went on a Sunday night at 7:30 during the Food and Wine Festival. We had been at Epcot since 11 am and wanted to sit down and relax. We were all tired and cranky at this point and needed a break from the crowds. We looked over the menu and everyone decided on something. Our drinks came out immediately and were good. Our dinner followed closely behind. There was hardly any wait at all even though they were packed. Nobody had any complaints about their food. Our server was very helpful and friendly and even spent some time talking with us about her culture. Overall the only reason I gave 4 stars is because the prices are a bit high. You can go to your local Chinese restaurant for a lot less, but you don't have to worry about the cleanliness and food handling here so it was worth it.

This was some really great Chinese food! The King Pao chicken was top notch, but if you're going there it is best to get the Disney Dining Plan ahead of time, because it is pretty pricey.

Went here for a lunch with friends while we were in Epcot on vacation. This wasn't our first choice (we were going to do Italian but at $24 plus for a LUNCH entree we opted to look elsewhere and found Nine Dragons) We were seated right away and we ordered some tea, beef scallion pancakes and I ordered a hot and sour soup. They had it all out very fast and were then taking our order. We ordered the Honey-Sesame chicken while our friends ordered the General Tso's chicken. Both dishes were FANTASTIC! The chicken was nice and tender on both plates and the glaze on the honey-sesame chicken was sweet but not overpowering. My favorite though was the General Tso's chicken. It was served with a nice sweet and sour sauce and spinach noodles. The noodles were fantastic with the sauce and I could have had just a bowl of them by themselves! The prices were much better here (about $16 for a lunch entree (about the standard price for Disney it seems)) and we were able to share with out friends and they were able to share with us. We will definitely be back when we return to Epcot.

If you're from the bay area or anywhere that has an active Chinatown, you won't find what you're looking for here. Don't get me wrong, the food here wasn't bad, but no, it's not going to be family style and no, you won't find the quality Chinese food that justifies the price that they're charging per dish. That being said, the service was great (DEFINITELY NOT common in a Chinese restaurant). They ask that you leave the strollers outside, but for a sleeping baby, they willingly accommodated us. If this is your first venture into Chinese food, it's fine. It's a good starter in that sense. The flavors are present and the presentation is nice. However for those seasoned vetrans to Chinese food, this place was not up to par.

Chinese food is pretty awesome. Take a little bit of this and that, add some rice and you're golden (and please, please, please don't take that as some ignorant stereotyping). This is a pretty good Chinese restaurant. The portions are (shockingly huge), the service is utterly fantastic, and the food tastes good, as well. My only complaints are that my food wasn't "sizzling" hot (I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken), and that there really is no way to transport the inevitable leftover food once you're done (since you're in a theme park). How about lowering the prices a smidge and making smaller portions?

Terrible food- not anywhere close to authentic and not even tasty for sell-out American-Chinese cuisine. (which, let's admit, can be damn good in the right hands) Service is ok, but the food is just flavorless. The drinks had pretty much no alcohol- waste of $$$. Overall, avoid like the plague, people. if you want overpriced disney food i would strongly recommend trying your luck at one of the other establishments. they certainly can't be any worse than this.

With the exception of the ginger ice cream, most of this meal was pretty awful. We went on the Disney meal plan for table service. I had the steak and grilled shrimp, which was ok. No great shakes but not great. Let's say average for a lower priced Chinese restaurant in most backwoods towns. My son ordered the sesame chicken, and his evaluation captured the entire meal: "The mall food court does it better." My wife liked her five spice fish. My daughter ordered the kung pao chicken, which had very little taste. The service was what really set it off. So bad, I didn't leave a tip, while I did in every other Disney restaurants. DO NOT ORDER THE RICE PUDDING!! SIMPLY AWFUL. Bad service and boring food done better at the mall food court for only $200 for family of four.

This place was by far the worst dining experience at Disney. Located in Epcot at China's World Showcase, my wife and I opted to eat here. I guess you can say we were forced to eat here because we were seeking shelter from a nasty thunderstorm. We entered the packed restaurant and were seated immediately. For starters, I ordered the hot and sour soup and my wife ordered the pot stickers. The tot and sour soup tasted the best out of all the dishes, while the overpriced pot stickers (3 for $7!!!) tasted bland and lacked the classic pork and vegetable flavor that I'm accustomed to. For an entrée, I ordered the Nine Dragons fried rice and my wife ordered the sweet and sour pork. The fried rice was disappointing, but the sweet and sour pork took the "what the hell is this" award. The typical sweet and sour pork consists of the pork, bell peppers, onions, and pineapples. Their version just included the pork on a bed of spinach fettuccine with sweet and sour sauce poured on top. Simply put, it was disgusting. We ended up paying $55 for soup, pot stickers, fried rice, and sweet and sour pork spinach fettuccine. I would not recommend this place at all. Mickey Mouse should dine here and experience it himself.

I came here last Wednesday just to get something to hold me over for an hour or two. I ordered general tso's which was not on the menu. It was my mistake for not asking what it would cost, because if I had known it would have been $20, I would have skipped. It was just average general tso's. I also ordered a chicken and shrimp egg roll. Weird flavor and I would not recommend it. $33 for not much in the way of satisfaction

On a crowded Saturday night at 5 p.m. this is the best we could do! This place is in Epcot Center at the World Pavillion. No need to look it up, not worth it! They rush you, sit you on top of other people and serve un-authentic Chinese food at very high prices! Need I say more?!

I eat at Nine Dragons every chance we get, and it never disappoints. Nine Dragons has the best General Tso's chicken I have ever had--the flavorful sauce is nice and peppery. The chicken is always all white meat. The General Tso's chicken is not on the official menu, but they always have it available as a special. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very real and you do get the feeling that you are in a Chinese restaurant as the workers do stay very much in character.

Walked into this restaurant and was fairly empty at 2:30pm which was great. Seated straight away awesome. BUT THAT WAS IT. 15-20mins later. No drinks offered no orders taken. Didn't even see our server since she sat us. Now I see why it was empty. Having a delicious meal at the rose n crown in the English side now. Soooooo much better!!!

We usually enjoy this restaurant on all of our trips to Disney, but this meal will be our last. The menu has changed quite a bit since the last visit, and most of the things we really enjoyed were no longer available. Out of all of the entrees ordered at our table, only two were really good. The other 4 were just marginal. For appetizers we got the potstickers and the Shanghai spring rolls. Both were good, but nothing special. I ordered the beef and chicken skewers - one of the best dishes at the table. I was wishing they came with some kind of vegetable, but the meat was tender and well spiced. The only other entree that met expectations was the peppery shrimp. The shrimp were well cooked and tasty, but the noodles totally stole the show. They were garlicky and delicious. The honey sesame chicken was just okay - nothing you wouldn't get at a typical chinese takeout restaurant at home, and there was definitely not enough sauce to flavor the rice. The kung pao chicken was - again - something you could get at a typical takeout joint, and didn't have much "pow" to it. The barbecue pork rice bowl was okay, but the pork was somewhat dry and the rice itself didn't have much flavor. The shrimp typhoon was by all accounts the worst dish at the table. The "shrimp" were more like chopped formed shrimp balls that were fried and pretty tasteless. They came on what looked like a salad, but there wasn't much to it. Definitely the biggest dissapointment. The service was okay - the waiter did check up on us and kept our drinks filled. He really didn't ask about the meal - and I'm sure he's glad he didn't. He was also kind of hard to understand as his English was not very clear and he spoke really fast. We won't be heading back to Nine Dragons next time around. There are lots of better bets in Disney for the price.

Things I was not surprised about at this Disney Chinese restaurant at Epcot: 1. Kind and very friendly hospitality by servers. 2. Inauthentic mild flavors, but tasty food. We shared some soup dumplings. I had the Pepper Beef. 3. Very small portions. 4. Very expensive Hey, it's Disney! What I was surprised about: My tummy was not happy at all. Barely made it to Morocco before running to the facilities! Lots of other places at Epcot to try!

The chinese dishes here are decent. Hot and sour soup I highly recommend. Honey sesame chicken is ok. Sweet and sour pork is ok. The bbq pork bowl is pretty good. Didn't get a chance to try the taro shrimp lollipops. I heard from another yelper that it was good. Definitely on the higher price side but its inside Disney. Overall 3 stars. Service was meh.

While at Epcot we decided to dine around the world. This was our first stop, and we only ordered appetizers. The unsweetened tea was awesome. We got several refills of that through out our meal. We ordered the vegetable spring roll. The roll it's self was fried to perfection. A spicy dipping sauce accompanied it. We also ordered the sampler dish. The cucumber salad was awesome. Vinegar tasting at first and then a spicy surprise at the end. The spicy beef also comes re commended as well as the pork buns.

There was no issue with waiting like the other reviews mentioned. We walked in and were seated right away. The meals are around $16-18 per person and are not really shareable. The soups are ordered by bowl. We got the shrimp taro lollipops which were my favorite part of the meal. It's an appetizer so you could get that and call it a day. The hot and sour soup actually tastes like hot and sour soup. No watery or cornstarch thick consistency. It was just right with a decent kick aka not bland. The fried rice is good as is the beef thing that I can't recall the name of. The ossobuco was kind of eh in my opinion but I don't normally like shank. Personally I think you can get better food for chewer at other areas in Epcot. I do like the service here. My waitress wasn't rude etc. She was efficient and very good.

I have eaten here quite a few times and I have always been happy with the food and service. This is not one of the most relaxing places to eat, but the food does come to the table quickly and as I prefer Americanized Chinese food I am usually very happy with my choices. If you need more down time to relax before you get back into the fray of Epcot you could order tea after dinner as I usually do here. I have not been to China, but my friends who have, have assured me that the food here is tailored to American preferences. I think most people will find this an easy place to find something they will like to eat and you won't waste a lot of time eating here as the wait staff can be abrupt at times and table turnover is kept brisk.

We are here for the first time and had reservations made. We were seated almost immediately (our reservation was for 1:45PM). I ordered the jasmine tea - unsweetened - and was very good. I did not order any appetizer or dessert. I did order the orange sesame chicken, which was fabulous! It came with white rice and a small cucumber salad. It all tasted very good, was very well presented and was so filling. The service was fantastic as well - always kept our drinks filled and checked in as needed. Would definitely eat here again.

Pretty decent Chinese food. Not super greasy which I liked. The Pork Buns were the best thing on the menu. I would just order those as my meal next time. Our waitress was very nice and food came quickly. This would be a good place to stop in with cranky kids or for an otherwise fairly casual meal while at Epcot. It's very easy to get a same-day reservation, which I would recommend doing instead of just walking in. The Disney phone app makes it easy.

My sister decided to make reservations at Nine Dragons for the two of us, our father, and a friend of mine two days ago. We made the reservation before splitting up after lunch and were able to get a table for four at 7:10. I love Chinese food, so I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, as I have so far been impressed by the food at Epcot. My friend and I arrived about ten minutes early and I went to check in with the hostess. She didn't have our reservation listed, which I later learned is what happens when you make your reservation that day, and tried to put us on a waiting list. Upon learning that we weren't all there yet, she stopped writing and snapped at me to come talk to her when everyone arrived. My sister and father got there on time, and Dad went to the restroom while my sister went to check in with the confirmation number. The woman glanced at our group and rudely informed us not to bother her until we were all there, then we told her we were all in the building and she passed us to someone else. Once we were seated, the service improved. We interacted with several members of the wait staff while eating, and they were all friendly and easily answered all of our questions, which is no small feat when you put my father in a themed restaurant. All of our meals were delicious, and prepared exactly the way we ordered them. (I ordered my meal with no peanuts, and my sister ordered hers with no peppers. Both were still plenty flavorful without those ingredients.) The restaurant was moderately busy, but the wait staff did not hover or make us feel rushed in any way while we discussed our plans for the rest of the day after finishing our meal. I would have given them five stars if it weren't for the rudeness of the hostess.

We came here for dinner at Epcot. This little place serves traditional Chinese Food. I got the shrimp fried rice and it was very bland. The pot stickers were good as was the spring roll. My husband and daughter enjoyed their Orange chicken so hot or miss I guess. The food is reasonably priced. Not much else to say.

I'm not a big fan of Chinese food, but when friends picked the place, who am I to complain? As a big Disney fan, I guess I owe it to the place to at least try. Together, the table ordered the shrimp & chicken egg rolls, fried rice, canton pepper beef, and kung pao chicken. Egg rolls were okay. I don't think I actually tasted shrimp vs chicken, but they were meaty. The fried rice was bland. I liked the beef, but again, not too much flavor there either. My favorite was the kung pao chicken. Ironic because I don't like spicy food, but I suppose because of the spice it had the most flavor. The peanuts were actually the best part of the dish. Good combo there. Our server was attentive enough and seemed to try really hard to please us and be friendly. "So far so good? *two thumbs up*" Refills on water: check. The only problem we did run into was splitting the check 4 ways. It was a little hard to communicate that out of the 6 of us, put these 2 together on this card & these 2 together on that card, then other individuals on their own cards. Ok, so maybe a little complicated but not really! He did it for us anyway, though. Glad I tried it, but probably won't choose to eat here again on my future "worldly" travels.

This is a very good american style chinese restaurant. I only say that because unlike most who will dine here I have actually been to China. The food in China is completely different from its american versions. Dispite that It is a beautiful space and the staff here is very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. The food is very good and they make these dishes very well. I enjoyed everything from the cucumber salad, hot and sour soup to the bbq pork over fried rice. All were exceptional dishes. I would definately come back to enjoy more.

Great food, beautiful décor, wonderful service, a great experience all around! Here is what I don't understand: how can some reviewers call this 'basic Chinese fare?' There was nothing 'basic' about what we ordered, not by a long shot! I was surprised by the flavors and variety of dishes. Quick backstory. We have been to Epcot/WDW a good bit, though not as often as locals I'm sure. We had annual passes this year, though, and we definitely made good use of them. We had this week trip planned in December, wanted to see the Candlelight Processional, and said, "Let's eat somewhere we haven't eaten before." Nine Dragons came up on the list first. We had always said, "Why eat here when we can get great Chinese food at home?" Well, true, but we wanted to try some place new and different, and heck, we couldn't say anything against it if we never even tried it. Besides, variety is the spice of life, right? Plus, the menu looked more intriguing than your standard American Chinese take-out place. Maybe that's because we only went for the unique items, like the appetizer combo with cucumber salad, cold beef salad, and cold roast pork. That's not standard fare by a long shot! And it was fantastic! The flavors were exotic, vibrant, well-balanced, and entirely delicious! We also had the pork bun (more like a taco, but unique and very good), and dumplings with the chili sauce, also a new take on a standard classic. And equally enticing on the palette. The entrées were also well worth the exploration. My kung pao shrimp was a revelation on the dish. Simple, not cluttered; no masking sauce of cornstarch and soy to make up for shoddy ingredients. Instead, a simple offering of fresh shrimp, well-roasted peanuts, and refreshing green onions to round it out. That's it. Plus, rice. And a sauce that made me rethink kung pao. Like, I don't know if I can order this dish from anywhere else now, rethinking. Other options on the table were the five-spice fish and lo mein combo. The lo mein wasn't as mind-alteringly good, but it was delicious and well made. The fish, though, was superb! The sauce was tangy, sweet, savory, and a perfect foil for the lightly fried and perfectly cooked fish. Outstanding! Banana cheesecake egg roll and red bean/strawberry ice cream rounded out the meal. Overall, a very worthwhile experience, one which might have to be repeated again someday! I'm still not sure why people had negative reviews here, but I don't share everyone's experience obviously. I keep seeing crowded, chaotic, busy, cramped... I can see that. Our lunch was 1:45pm, not really the high point of the day. That helped, I'm sure. I can also see how it could be overly crowded at capacity. We had enough room of course, but there wasn't an adjacent table with guests near us. So, maybe they need to expand a bit and increase the staff, but I can honestly say, at hour lunch, we had a truly wonderful time. I would definitely go back. Try something outside of your comfort zone here. You might be very pleasantly surprised at the results! I know we were.

The fried rice has small pieces of ham in it. Whoever heard of such a thing?! It's pretty icky and I really didn't like the added pig to the Chinese food. The hot & sour soup was great! Like all Disney restaurants, it is costly. But worth the extra for a little better food quality.

The food was good and the service outstanding. We ordered the lollipop shrimp and two of Theron dishes with chicken and noodle with shrimp. Again the service was great, the prices were a bit high, but this is is Disney. We'll be back!

It's a beautiful place with great music and decorated tasteful. The spring rolls was delicious fresh . The jasmine green tea was made fresh (not reheated) to order. I was impressed with the service. Very good can't wait to go again. Yum

Ambiance: Chaotic and noisy. No real atmosphere. Prices: overpriced Disney prices. Food: the only highlight was the hot and sour soup, one of the better ones I've had. I had the peppery shrimp with spicy noodles. You would think the noodles would have been an Asian noodle, but no, Fettucini noodles. Italian noodles in a Chinese restaurant, now that's authentic. Service: The waiter was largely non-existent and was all business, no personality. I recommend if you're at Epcot and want Chinese go to the casual restaurant right next door to this one. Better food at a fraction of the price.

Good choice of ours. Packed. Almost too packed. The food was good but we waited forever just to get out. Go for an appetizer that's what really made our meal. Make reservations if you go because the wait line was long.

I feel like this is the same meal as I could get at a food court. After trying to walk in at Via Napoli and finding out that they were not excepting any walk ins, it should have been a clue that Nine Dragons was only half full. The decor is your standard Chinese restaurant decor. I ordered the Bar B Q Pork dish and my fiancé got the Honey Sesame Chicken. Out of the two dishes I liked the Honey Sesame Chicken better. It was lightly fried. The Pork was a little fatty and I felt like there was too much sauce. The fried rice was ok, but nothing amazing. For $50 I would expect better. I really would suggest going someplace else.

Been here several times and it's never a disappointment. It's usually fairly easy to get a reservation, too. At 3pm I was able to secure a reservation for 4pm that same day, which is unusual for most Disney restaurants. The staff are always so polite and friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. We stop by a few times a year because we've enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend the spring rolls!

This is very mild Chinese food, about as bland as one can make it. Service was very attentive, but the honey-sesame chick, sweet&sour pork and pepper beef were just sweet, under seasoned and not particularly well presented. Soups were okay. Tea was reasonably good. The ginger ice cream was missing ginger. Nothing was bad, just not particularly memorable or a reasonable value.

For super expensive Disney prices Nine Dragons is likely the best value. I started with chicken dumplings and hot and sour soup. The chili dipping sauce was great and the soup was to par. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken. It was as good as I've had anywhere else. Obviously prices are inflated, so considering that it was a solid choice.

This is my second time here. The first time was during the Candlelight procession, and we chose Nine Dragons because it was the cheapest. It wasn't great that night, but I chalked it up to the fact that we did a package. We'll, I was wrong. This is truly overpriced, over or under seasoned Chinese food. The kids meal is tiny, and the "draft" beer is in a bottle. Ugh! We were seated really quickly and the waiter was super fast, but seamed like he was rushing us. The food was out in under 15 minutes. We opted for the family meal. I thought at first it was a good deal, but really, nothing here is good. So if you want good Chinese, don't come here. If you want fast Chinese, get the quick serve. #yelp100

This place is awesome! Now we have some pretty good Chinese food back home where I live, so I'm used to a good bit and this place was ranked up there. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious. I love the fried rice. There is a nice view of the lake outside that adds to the ambience because this is one of the more beautiful restaurants in World Showcase.

After walking around Epcot all day we stopped in for dinner before leaving the park, around 8 pm(park closed at 9) we were seated promptly (without a reservation) and our server was very polite. We had the potstickers as an appetizer, they were very good. My friend had the shrimp typhoon, and i had their special of the day, the general tso chicken. Both meals were AMAZING. The chicken was so crispy on the outside and the sauce was perfect, not too spicy at all. Very mild, but tasty! if you ever eat at the walk up counter next door, it's not good, so I was worried about trying this place but so glad that I did.

Over priced flavorless chinese food. My family had the runs after lunch at this restaurant. It ruined our Epcot experience.

Food was "just alright". Service felt rushed. Tables were too close together, felt like I was dinning with strangers. There are better places to eat in EPCOT and WDW than here.

Foodies beware! I last ate here over 10 years ago and recall it being pretty bad. Few visits later, my husband convinced me to try it again. I figured all these years later it may have gotten better. Nope! Let me make this clear, the food is horrible but the service is actually pretty good. Our waiter Ky Bang was very attentive and helpful. We ordered... Shrimp over baguette - oily grossness. Who thought that deep frying bread was a good idea? Sucked up all the oil and was disgusting! Appetizer trio - nothing special. Hot n Sour Soup - tasted like it was made with dirty dish water. Nah, worse than that. Veg Fried Rice - plain and boring. If or when I'm at Epcot again, I will NEVER come here again.

This is kind of Chinese food that Chinese don't eat because it tastes that bad but the Chinese does work there due to that this is a Chinese restaurant. For the Asian people .. it's bad For the people never had Chinese food. I am sorry.

We came here for our anniversary this past January and we clearly werent impressed. The food was good. The food was VERY good. The service was horrible! I'd be happy to explain. For one, we were able to get reservations the night before, which for Disney, is a HUGE deal! I was SO excited to be going out for dinner with my hubby so when I found out we were eating in Disney was sooo much sweeter! After a nice day in Epcot we wandered over to Nine Dragons and found the place empty. No idea why that was but here we are ready for dinner and the place is empty... Ok then... We turn to each other and confirm that online the place said it closed at 10 and we looked at our phone and it said 8:30pm.... ok..... so where is everyone?? We were seated right away and right by a window over looking the lake that the show was about to start on. Another couple was seated a couple of tables behind us. We felt a little relief that we werent alone any longer. We'd never been here before so it took us a while to look over the menu. The whole time the waiter wouldnt stop pestering us to see if we were ready. I'm not the kind of person who can tune that stuff out. I felt horrible that I was taking so long but that in itself was keeping my mind off trying to figure out what I wanted. 15mins pass and we ordered the pork steam buns and for our meals I got their signature chicken dish and Tom got some pork loin dish. Not even 5 mins later the pork buns are on our table and our waiter comes around to ask us if we're ordering anything else 'cuz kitchen is closed now, that ok?? Thanks'' and walks away. We had no idea if we were done ordering but I guess we had no choice. We probably werent going to order anything else but the option was taken from us which kind of derailed us and made us feel bad again. Customer satisfaction is not at the top of this places mind, not at all. The food was amazing. No joke. The food was AMAZING! That's coming from 2 foodies too. The pork steam buns were mouth watering good. The bun itself was unlike anything I've ever had, and I've had the dish elsewhere. The pork was spot on and the slaw on top was fresh and crisp and just perfect. The chicken I ordered was the same. Tom's dinner was spot on as well. One issue we did have was his pork loin was dry, which is a big 'no no' for us... dry food isnt worth the price, but we had no choice since 'kitchen is close now.' The waiter did not come back. There was nothing we could have done. We were able to watch part of the Illuminations show and after the 5th time of the waiter coming over to see if we had finished eating we felt rushed. The time was 9:15pm and they closed at 10. We should have had 45mins left to order food and eat and drink and have fun... but not here. Not here, no way! This is NOT the kind of place to take your time and enjoy yourself. I plan on calling Disney about this. The man was nice enough but he shouldnt have rushed such an important meal for us. We tried our hardest to enjoy our meal esp after such a wonderful day our with my husband but this idiot waiter really did ruin it for me. Tom isn't too happy about it either to say the least.

We had a craving for Chinese and were able to get right in to this sit down restaurant. Ordered potstickers and egg rolls to start. Both delicious! We shared a kids sweet and sour shrimp with lo mein ( not good ) and a honey sesame chicken which really had an authentic honey flavor. The service is good and the Ginger Zinger is a great drink for someone who doesn't like them on the sweet side, like me!

  • Nick Y.

Whoever has rated this 4 stars or above has never really had good, quality Chinese food. While the service was quick and the food timely and cooked well, it was very bland and average at best. Take for example the "fried" rice dish. It was basically steamed brown rice with meat and veggies, no seasoning. The egg roll appetizer was pretty good. I had the honey sesame chicken which was equivalent to something you'd get at the food court in a mall. Again, average at best. Even the white rice was too clumpy. Ambience was nothing exciting, you're seated pretty much on top of each other and rushed to finish like you're in Applebee's. If you're from the mid west maybe this suits you but I'm used to metro area quality. Price wise it's fairly reasonable considering its in Epcot. I'm not going to say to avoid this place but just don't be surprised at its mediocrity.

This place was amazing! It was our best dining experience at Disney! It was a little pricey but I think it was worth every penny! Staff was friendly and quick! Food was fresh and had amazing flavor!!!! Can't wait to go back again! I am thinking next time I come to Disney to do dinner here twice!!

    (5)
  • TJ M.

Yes it's overpriced - as is everything at Disney. Is it authentic Chinese food? -absolutely not. However, I had a really good dish that was amazing! I am usually not a fan of Disney food, but the Five Spice Fish was so good - and worth 5 stars for that alone. I deducted 1 star for the price and service ..., which was slow. I don't know about anything else on the menu (except for the kids lo mien which my boys seemed to enjoy). So if you like fish make sure you order it here - don't be alarmed by the lack of presentation just pour the sauce they give you over the fish and rice. I am sure you are going to love it!

The food was very good., the atmosphere a little noisy bit still pleasant enough. The service was very good. The egg rolls, lollipops and steamed dumpling appetizers were all very nice. Our main courses were also good. We had the sweet and sour pork. Although not very special, still nice. The honey-sesame chicken, ditto. The noodle sample was very good, the two sauces were excellent and being able mix-and-match my own dish was awesome. The fried rice a bit too much like the 'nasi' at home. Not bad, just a bit plain. Overall definitely worth the visit.

Service was good, which is what i've come to expect from restaurants in disney. Menu was limited, but did offer one set of dumplings they called dim sum. They had dinner and lunch specials, i took the lunch special. Got soup, tastes like beef consumme with slices of beef and some chopped scallions. Was good, but for price ive had better in orlando.

  • Merri B.

I've been to China, and I've lived in NY all my life. I know good Chinese food, and this is the best I've had in Orlando so far. Authentic? Somewhat, yes. Value? Eh. It loses 1 star for being Disney - overpriced. My husband and I went for Christmas today and ordered the holiday dinner special: soup, entree and dessert. My meal was better than my husband's. I ordered the Hot and Sour soup which is wonderful! The Peppered Beef, also delicious, and finally the Strawberry Red Bean ice cream. Yum. He had the Chicken Consomme with dumplings (decent), Sesame Chicken (very good though a touch too sweet) and Caramel - Ginger ice cream (mostly ginger in the taste.) All in all, a great meal, quick service and worth a return.

Not the worst Chinese food. Despite what other reviewers put it is better than a food court. It is not traditional Chinese, but it is ok. Spinach noodles are good. Chicken King Pao and Canton Beef are good. Fried rice was not the best.

My family had lunch here recently during a visit to Epcot, and we were pretty impressed with our experience. I wasn't sure what to expect since this is Disney and I don't usually enjoy the food in the parks. However, I thought this place was pretty great! Is it authentic Chinese food? No. But did you really think you were going to get ANYTHING authentic inside of a theme park? Dream on. If you can get past that, though, the food is pretty good. I had the chicken consomme soup (which is basically wonton soup), which was very good, and the honey chicken. The chicken was crispy and delicious, served with white rice. I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their food as well. My boyfriend had the kung pao chicken and said it was some of the best he had. My dad had a shrimp dish with noodles that he enjoyed. Our service was great and I thought the portions were right on. However, it is expensive (once again, remember you are at DISNEY). For a sit-down meal in Disney, however, it's worth it.

The food here was pretty good. My hubby and I enjoyed our meal and the service was great. We sat down and were served immediately. Now for the down side: about an hour after eating I began to feel sick. I threw up all night. Beware the steak & shrimp skewers.

Panda Express quality food. Service was friendly enough, but not worth the high cost. Total for 3 adults/1 toddler (with no drinks or apps) came to over $100.

As a regular at Epcot, my wife and I were shocked to discover a restaurant that we have never eaten at before. The staff was great and allowed my wife to kind of make her own menu and I went with the chefs daily special. The food was great but you can end up with the dreaded scream disney child near you. Overall we will eat here again

  • James H.

We ate here for lunch on a last minute decision. We didn't even have to wait a second to be seated which was great during the lunch hour rush in Epcot. Let me tell you; they give HUGE portions of food for your money. They could actually make the portions smaller and also a cheaper price! It was a little pricey, $70 for two people. Chinese food is expensive anyway, I had the sesame chicken which was great. You can substitute the white rice for egg fried rice for another $2 which is fine. The rice was great! She had some shrimp meal which was also huge portions. She said it was good and flavorful. They had a great selection of drinks as well. Service was not bad, the only problem I encountered was getting a refill as fast as I wanted it. I would consider going again, maybe for dinner next time or when I was little more hungry to eat such a big meal.

  • Rae L.

Worst food in Disney. The Happy Family Duet entree is terrible. It was stir fried beef that tasted like it had been marinated in salt and shrimp in a red sauce that tasted like Chef Boyardee sauce. Gross! Won't be going back there again.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. Our waiter, Woody, was courteous and very nice. He explained the menu and took great care to make sure that I knew which dishes had nuts in them. (as I'm allergic) Our reservation was for six o'clock, but we got there about 15 min prior. We were seated five minutes later. The food, the food, the food. Everything was very tasty, and the kids menu had very good choices, even for a fussy eater.

  • Dana T.

Horrible service. Long wait to order our food while the waiters and waitresses were just standing by the kitchen door gossiping. Bf could understand them because he's Chinese. If you want overpriced Panda Express this is the place for you. Did not taste authentic at all.

This place was definitely "a-ok" overall. We had never eaten in China while in Epcot, so we decided to stop here for dinner on a recent visit. Service was great, very attentive. I ordered the fried rice with veggies, shrimp, chicken and ham for my meal. My husband ordered the make your own noodle dish entree (I can't remember the exact name). The other members of our group ordered kung pao chicken and a tofu and vegetable dish. The fried rice entree was huge, it easily would have been enough for my mom and I to split. I do think they could have added more shrimp, as the dish included just six small shrimp. I thought my fried rice was okay, not great. It was lacking in a bit of flavor and I had to add lots of soy sauce to give it some flavor. My husband's dish, on the other hand, was very good, particular the pork that came with a spicy sauce. The two members of my family that ordered the kung pao chicken really liked their meals as well and said that the dish had a good amount of heat. The raspberry iced tea was delicious, and definitely something I would order next time. I may go back here at some point in the future, but I would definitely order a different dish if I did. Overall, this place was pretty average and I am not sure I would make this a priority with all of the other great dining options in Epcot.

  • Marauder M.

The food tasted as good as any take-out joint in the country and the service was great. But $57 for the two of us is way over priced for Chinese food, I guess if you're used to feeding your family of 5 at the Chinese buffet on Sundays for the same price it would feel a little steep. Maybe they just don't know how much Chinese food costs outside the park. The place was a little empty which should have given me a clue. One good thing is that paying $14 for my tuna sandwich at the airport seemed fair.

Why is it that when you walk into a nearly empty restaurant the hostess gives you the worst table in the house? I think there were one or two tables filled when I arrived. They begrudgingly moved me to a better table. Service was OK but no one in that restaurant seemed happy to be there or going out of their way to give a great experience to their customers. The food was Ok.. I would have given this a two and a half stars if it were available. But I don't think I would go back to this restaurant.

I'm pretty surprised that this place got such crappy reviews. Maybe it's because I've grown up with "real" Chinese food and walked in with low expectations. But honestly, this place is still pretty good. Maybe avoid the typical Americanized dishes? e.g. General Tso's We started with the appetizer trio (~$12), which was a cucumber salad, sliced beef and chicken. All were very good, but the portions were tiny, especially for the price. I ordered the Zha Jiang noodles, which came with 2 bowls of noodles, 2 sauces (1 pork, 1 chicken), and mixed vegetables (~$20). You pretty much throw every thing together and mix it up yourself. I enjoyed it. Boyfriend got the roasted chicken w/ mashed taro (~$19). It definitely reminded me of the roast meats you can find in traditional Chinese restaurants. Overall, this place deserves a try. I can at least say that the dishes that we ordered were pretty legit. I did cringe when I paid the bill...In a real Chinese restaurant, the appetizer and noodles would have cost me $6 each, and I could have bought a WHOLE Chinese style roasted chicken for the same price. /shrug

Terrible food. Sweet and sour pork was like beef jerky covered in syrup. Kung pao chicken was bits of chicken no bigger than the peanuts. Asked for hot mustard they brought me Dijon. Used to be good. Feels so production now. So fake. Sorry Disney. Not the quality you weened me on. Very very disappointed :;(.

Totally enjoyed our dinner here last night. Wait staff was pleasant, attentive & totally engaged. The ice cold Tsingtao beer was great. We shared 3 appetizers and had 4 different entrees. The cold spicy beef, spring rolls, & egg rolls were great! The peppery shrimp with spinach noodles were not overly spicy, permitting the taste of the fresh shrimp to shine through. The Kung Pao chicken, General Tsao's chicken, & Honey-sesame chicken were all excellent. Definitely recommended! Kudos to our waiter, Pak Yan!

  • Ikjyot Singh K.

This is the worst restaurant at Epcot. Chinese restaurants have built their reputation on variety and accommodation, of which Nine Dragons has neither. The vegetarian menu is pitiful, and the waiters will not accommodate your requests. Surprisingly, the Asian food in The Land at Epcot is infinitely better, the chefs are more accommodating and the food is actually real Asian food. Disney has to get its act together and replace this sorry excuse for a Chinese restaurant with PF Chang or similar.

    (1)
  • Gerald H.

This place is located in EPCOT. The food is very price for Disney and for Chinese food standards. A bowl of fried rice with shrimp cost $16.00. It was okay and tasted like it had MSG in it. The decor was traditional and the service was excellent. Almost 2-1 servers to dining guest. The food was good but if you've eaten Chinese before this place should not be on your "to do" list while visiting EPCOT.

    (2)
  • Blond B.

I really enjoyed the food there! The decor and atmosphere was really cool as well. For the quality it was not over priced insanely like everything else in Disney. Food had a great kick to it. Very good chinese cuisine.

After eating her numerous times, I thought it would be the same as before.. Not really. I was unimpressed about the rude hostess that sat us at our table, and the horrible wait times between ordering and actually getting our meals. The food was also mediocre, and my sweet and sour pork wasn't the same as before. It was overly battered, and bland. I would consider going to this nicely themed restaurant, if they improve on the service and food. I do like eating here closer to 8pm, as you can see the beautiful fireworks through the window.

    (3)
  • Joe M.

Very friendly staff and great service. This is located in the China pavilion in EPCOT. As far as the food goes it's average at best but the best Chinese food in Disney World. The kids menu is very limited but they can make substitutions.

    (3)
  • Jerry C.

Very good restaurant to eat at, especially if using the Disney Dining Plan. The restaurant has a menu just for the dining plan that includes appetizer & desert with the entree. Most restaurants do not have a separate menu for the dining plan & you must order an entree only from the regular menu. The food is very good & the wait staff very pleasant.

    (4)
  • Danan C.

The good: Food was very tasty and high quality. Service was excellent with our every needs attended to before we even noticed that they needed tending. The bad: Holy moly this place is expensive for what you get.

  • Lucy X.

Horrible "Chinese" restaurant. And I'm not even hating because of its "Americanized Chinese food" (let's just say ACF for short), because in the middle of a Disney World park, I wasn't expecting anything more...and really there's nothing wrong with ACF because it does the job of satisfying your hunger, well at least most of the time. But all aspects, and I mean ALL, not just the food, of this restaurant is just bad- the poor execution and bland taste of the food, the puny portion sizes, poor service, steep price, you name it. Spent nearly $100 on like three dishes and left hungry and disappointed. Avoid at all cost!

    (1)
  • Jaimee A.

This was a pretty basic Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere was somewhat "authentic" as it was located in Epcot Center and that is what they strive for. The menu on the other hand was fairly small and had all the typical americanized chinese dishes. The hubby and daughters had the honey sesame chicken (which was very tasty) Me and my aunt had the chinese chicken salad with peanut coconut dressing (which was also pretty tastey) The bathrooms were quite clean and the service was good.

    (3)

Not a fan. Worst Chinese food I've had. And that's a lot of Chinese food. No value here.

    (2)
  • Candy L.

My biggest disappointment was that the General Tso's Dumplings tasted nothing like General Tso's. The Fragrant Chicken tasted like bland chicken but the Shrimp Almond Toast and the Cucumber Salad was tasty. The decor of the restaurant was very zen but the atmosphere was more boisterous and rushed. Might be a better lunch than dinner option. FYI - this restaurant does not provide a good view of the Illuminations fireworks as the view of the water is blocked.

    (2)
  • Julie K.

Typical Chinese food but cooked to the quality of Disney. The sweet and sour chicken was amazing but sadly they took it off the menu last we were there. I would not make a special trip or use a dining plan credit to eat there unless you are just in the mood for Chinese. But if you do go, food is great.

  • T B.

The only good thing about this place was the A/C worked. Our neighboring table had three SCREAMING children at it (not the fault of the restaurant but it would help if they had a screaming and non-screaming section) oh and these kids refused to eat anything off the menu so their indulgent mother went out and bought them fast food to eat in the restaurant. But I digress. I should know better than to kvetch about ill behaved kids at Disney. Anyway, rant off. The spring roll appetizer was OK but nothing special. The tofu and stir fried vegetables were disgusting. WAY too much sauce that was WAY too salty. A couple cubes of tofu and some overcooked vegetables.

  • Chris C.

Really surprised by the poor reviews of this place. I really liked it, actually. Sure, it's pretty much an Americanized Chinese place, but it's pretty good relative to the rest of the oeuvre. The review complaining about meatballs and tasteless lo mein... I mean, that's an item on the kids menu. I really don't see how rating the restaurant off the kids menu is helpful (or fair). I liked the decor of the place, and our server was really great. Attentive and super nice. We had spring rolls and pot stickers for appetizers and both were well above average. I had the special dinner which was a General Tso chicken served two ways - "traditional" and in a dumpling presentation. Sure, General Tso is an American invention, but I thought the dish was really good, and the portions were plentiful, in my opinion. This is not Beijing, it's Epcot. If you go into Nine Dragons expecting a solid Chinese-American experience, you won't be disappointed.

This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service. My main criticism is the lack of variety on the menu. It used to have a larger menu. I agree with another reviewer that it does bridge the gap between Chinese and American food. I am not sure if that is a good thing though? The hot and sour soup is excellent. I had the kung pao chicken. It was good but had a very strong sesame taste to it. The sesame oil gives it a unique taste, but I enjoy it without this. I prefer more celery and for the chicken to stand out more for the meal. Anyway, I hope this restaurant becomes more ethnic, and more daring with the menu.

  • Matt M.

Good food, great service but pricey. However this is Disney and you expect higher prices and a certain level of food quality and quantity. Sadly, wherever you go at Disney, you are jammed together, kids are running everywhere and this is no different. If I could give halves, it would get 3.5 stars, because it was borderline really good.

Very agreeable staff, make a reservation We had a party of 8, we had mad a reservation prior to coming, this is one of the restaurants on the dining plan. Our waiter allowed one of us to trade a desert for an appetizer which won him many points. I went with the special that included pot sticker appetizer, soup and something else that i seem to have forgotten. It was a good meal. We were all pleased with our choices. The fried rice dish is huge! Definitely crowded and loud, but tasty.

Snagged a late priority seating at Nine Dragons on a Friday night during December about 30 minutes before the fireworks. Ky Minh was our waiter and he made a good meal really great. Ky was super quick with our drinks and walked us through the menu highlights without being pushy (which can happen a lot at Disney restaurants). He cracked a few jokes, asked us how our day was, and seemed to be genuinely interested in making us happy. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken (extra spicy) and my guest ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork. Not long after we ordered, the lights went down outside and the fireworks were getting started. Our table was smack in the middle of the dining room without much of a view, but an open table near the windows was calling to us. Ky noticed this immediately and came over to tell us we were free to grab a seat there to enjoy the show. If you haven't seen the fireworks near Christmas, go sometime. Not only is Illuminations a top notch fireworks show, but the additional holiday themed feature afterwards is really wonderful. In total, the show probably took around 15 minutes or so and we were able to enjoy every bit of it from the table Ky pointed out. When the lights came back up and we made our way back to the table, what a great surprise it was to see our meals waiting (covered and piping hot) and our drinks refreshed. The food here is good, but it's not gourmet by any means. Ordering the Kung Pao chicken extra spicy was perfect for me. There was a serious bite to the sauce, which is definitely not present in the standard recipe. The pork was good, as the sauce isn't super sweet like some chinese restaurants do sweet & sour dishes. The spinach noodles that came along with it were a treat... they might have been the best part of the meal. To be honest, Nine Dragons would usually net a 3 star review. It's a standard Disney table service spot, but our experience with Ky makes it a 4 star in my book.

What are these reviews talking about? This place is the best! To do list for you guys in Disney: For kids, order the sweet and sour chicken. I've tried it myself! It's delicious and your kids will L-O-V-E it! For adults, try the Kung Pao chicken. It's spicy with peanuts. Hope you yelpers will try this stuff soon! :)

Nine Dragons is located in the China pavilion at EPCOT. The service was a bit slow- we had to flag our server down to get refills on water. The food came out fast though! Too bad the food wasn't better. I guess you don't expect much at a theme park so keeping that in mind it wasn't bad, just nothing I'll want to repeat. There are too many other restaurants at EPCOT to try! The pot stickers where oily and bland and my honey chicken had a good flavor but was a little tough. The rice wasn't the sticky type you would expect but was dry instead. Pass.

Now, for fancier dining, go to Nine Dragons when you're in Epcot. Our friends suggested we go to this place when we went to Disney, so we did. You need to make a reservation to come here and it's obvious as to why! The food is good and it's always crowded. To me, it reminded me of a Chinese restaurant at home (Hawaii) which is kind of reassuring because who wants to go to an EMPTY Chinese restaurant :-) The atmosphere is really pretty and the waiters, who are actually China, are so nice and helpful in determining what to eat.

I have eaten at most of the restaurants at Epcot...many are very good...this is not one of them. I gave it two tries thinking that the first experience could just be a bad day...but no...it is just not my type of Epcot dinning experience. The restaurant is at the entrance of the China pavilion and the decor is quite lovely. The staff is very busy and hard to flag down for any questions or requests. The tables are very close together and personal space is non-existent. The wait staff is constantly tripping over diners trying to squeeze between tables. The biggest problem is the food quality. We tried appetizers, soup, entrees, and dessert. Completely different selections on each visit. The soup was the best item each time. The hot tea was the only thing that was actually good. The food quantity is large but the taste was mostly bland and the food appeared to have been prepared earlier and just heaped onto the plate. The food came in huge chunks that were impossible to eat with chop sticks, so I had to ask for a knife and fork. I have eaten quite a bit of authentic Chinese food in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco (where my best friend's first generation Chinese grandma cooked everything fresh and yummy). So, if there are some reviewers who say that this is non-Americanized fare, I just don't get it. With all of the options available for dining at EPCOT try another location.

A friend of mine was deprived of Chinese food, so we came to Nine Dragons to make her happy. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive. Coincidentally, the girl who wanted Chinese food and our server had the same name. Cool! I ordered shrimp toast, a chicken consomme with dumplings and a chai tea. I thought the chicken consomme was quite good, but the dumpling skin was a little thick. The shrimp toast was oily and somewhat flavorless, but the bread was crispy and fresh. The chai tea was the best thing that I had during that meal, which is kinda weird, considering that it was a drink... The people who were dining with me thought the food was lackluster and over or under seasoned, probably because they were exposed to so much Chinese food back home. By the way, I paid $15 dollars for a side dish, an appetizer, and a cup of tea. OUCH.

It wasn't offensive, but having lived in San Francisco for a few years, this is a disappointment. I tried the $24 "family style meal" (which isn't): a bowl of chicken consumme with two dumplings which was stirred with a salt lick or something (holy cow, NOT for someone with blood pressure issues. Second course: honey sesame chicken. Greasy, deep fried, in a sticky sauce. Yek. Arrived with white rice on a plate, so it wasn't "family style" in the Chinese sense. Dessert: caramel ginger ice cream (a no-brainer, given the alternative was strawberry and red bean ice cream). It seemed like they took caramel ice cream and stirred in chopped fresh ginger. An interesting idea, but to get the mix going, they had to half-melt the ice cream. Overpriced mall food.

I've been going to Disney World and EPCOT yearly since they opened. I've never tried this place until my trip this year because the reviews I've seen everywhere are so bad. We were able to get same day reservations for dinner here and decided to just try it. We were so shocked. The food was very good and in no way tasted like Panda Express or food court food like so many reviews have said. We got shrimp/chicken spring rolls and they were terrific. They were the best either of us have ever had. I had the Kung Pao Shrimp and it was very spicy and had a TON of shrimp. My friend had honey chicken and was raving about it. Our server was very good as well. They have some interesting iced tea blends that I enjoyed. I had a jasmine one that I thought was very good, but my friend didn't like at all. He got one of the others and enjoyed it, but I don't remember what it was called. The tables are very close to each other, so I wouldn't go for an intimate, romantic evening. Now, if you live somewhere that has very "authentic" Chinese restaurants with unusual and unfamiliar dishes like you would get if you traveled to China, then this place isn't for you. But if the typical sort of dishes like I mentioned above is what you'll get....and done well. All the things on the menu looked familiar to me....no eel or camel's hump as mentioned in Rush Hour. :-) I'm so happy I went here FINALLY and will definitely go back in the future. I can't believe I waited this long to try it. Maybe it's gotten better recently or something, but all the bad reviews are undeserved in my opinion.

Never eating here again. Food was good. Service was horrible, way below my expectations.. Especially for a Disney. If the restaurant is half full and the patron requests to sit somewhere nicer, like near the window.. The hostess shouldn't roll her eyes.

I don't understand why this place gets such bad reviews. I would say this place bridges the gap between authentic Chinese food and Americanized food. Meaning, you can find the American-type Chinese dishes, but done in an authentic way. We've been here twice for lunch and enjoyed both experiences. Today we enjoyed the prix fix lunch menu: Hot and sour sour - best I've ever had! Must like spicy Chicken consomme with pork dumplings - great flavor fragrant five-spice fish - so tender and served with a delicious sauce general tso chicken duo - lots of pepper but in a good way ginger cake - the first Asian cake I had that was moist and flavorful strawberry-red bean ice cream - a great pairing! Service was great. However, we did arrive right after opening. I can't wait to return again!

This is a large restaurant so they were able to seat us quickly for dinner, and yet the service was attentive. Our entrees were good. I had the Kung Pow beef, I believe. Chinatown it's not, but it's a good place at Epcot. I would go back there again.

Wonderful lunch stop while touring the park! I thought the hot and sour soup was one of the best I've had, the dumplings were basic, but satisfying, and my friends really enjoyed the Kung Pao chicken! I would definitely return for a light bite!

The server was so incredibly nice which got us off to a great start. He was so patient with us, as my mom is incredibly indecisive and doesn't understand the concept that if your not ready to order, let the waiter come back at most restaurants. But he was just amazing. When my kids didn't know what to order he got them to try the chinese cuisine and they loved it! The food itself was really good and the server's recommendations were delicous! I would defintely come back as the prices were not bad at all for Disney World. We did order the general tso's special and my kids got the sweet and sour chicken. Both were yummy. I also had the japanese beer, it started with ts something which was really good as well.

If you've never had Chinese food before then let this be a warning. This place is nice, cozy, good decor and ambiance, but the food I'd say wth! I come from the Bay Area, where lots of authentic Asian restaurants call home. I'm not picky, but I tasted the food here it had no flavor I'm errrked! I was hoping for some resemblance of flavor from what was on the menu. Started out with the Hot & Sour Soup which was pretty good the heat got me goin' ... I ordered Sweet & Sour Pork with lightly spiced spinach noodles dish. When I got it, it turned out to be bland and just boiled pork flavor with mediocre crunch. The noodles clumped up on me and no spice. My wife had the Fragrant Five Spiced Fish which was pretty dam good. Sadly to say, the only thing good on the menu out of seven different selections we all had. The dessert was okay. I miss home...

Get the shrimp and taro lollipops, they are fantastic! This is a great Chinese restaurant. In have been twice in 6 months and will go again. You get great food for a good price considering its disney.

Loved this for lunch. They sat us a bit early, which was nice, as we had a plane to catch. I had an aromatic white fish that melted in my mouth. Mother had the sesame chicken which was tender. We tried the popsicle dim sum appetizer, which was decent. Atmosphere is lovely and the staff was friendly. Would have liked a few more options on the menu, though, and more vegetables.

Nine Dragons was ok, but probably not somewhere I would visit again. I decided to be a little adventurous and get the "Walnut Shrimp Toast," which the menu boasted was "crunchy, crispy, and delicious." All I can say was yuck! Not a fan of that dish. The main course was not bad, but nothing you couldn't get at any other chinese restaurant. Our server was a little rushed, but no major complaints about the service.

This was much better than expected. Service deserves 5 stars - our waiter, Andy, was friendly spoke perfect English & Chinese and was the perfect combo of Disney friendly/helpfulness and fabulous & unobtrusive waiter. I expected typical Americanized theme park foods (& prices!) and tastes. We like spicy and took our chances with the hot and sour soup - we thought it was going to be bland but so glad we were proven wrong! Next came the taro & shrimp lollipops - not sure what to expect but they sounded interesting and I was able to convince my "lo-fan" friend to try them instead of his usual potstickers. These were fried puffs with shrimp inside. Kinda reminded me of "haum suu gock" but with just shrimp. Next came sweet n sour chicken on a bed of spinach pasta (yeah kinda weird). To me it was overly sweet and the chunks of bell peppers, onions and pineapple were missed but it was decent (overly Tourist-ified). The pasta with the sweet and sour sauce was just odd - Andy explained it was for the tourists. We also ordered sicchuan beef, on Andy's recommedation as we were looking for spicy. This rocked! It was not on the regular menu but on a chefs special. Andy said you could have beef or fish (as the protein). A bowl of rice came on the side. There were pods of red chilies on and in the mix of tofu and various veggies like broccoli and baby bok choy. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Andy was awesome. Food was very good. Decor was outstanding. Other than fireworks going off at dinner (a plus for us!) you wouldn't really know you were at Disney. Also scored an excellent referral, from Andy, for a dim sum restaurant in Orlando! Great find.

Inside of Epcot, Disney. I was delighted to actually get real food! The whole Epcot experience is pretty good actually, food included. The other parks not so much. It was nice to have a good sit down lunch with family. The food was hot, fresh and atmosphere, service darn good. Made you forget where you were for a bit. If I go back to Disney, hopefully not for some time, there is a good chance I would stop there again.

hmmmm...Being from San Francisco, I have had the pleasure of trying some of the best Chinese restaurants in the US. Nine Dragons is not that great and many of my fellow Yelpers seem to agree. As Coty said, it's definitely not authetic. Thank goodness we were on a dining plan cause our dinner with one beer and gratuity was over a hundred dollars for 2 people! Way too much money for chinese food.. I would skip this place and try Biergarten or La Chefs de France. I haven't been to Marrakesh but a few of the locals recommended it to us so we'll go there next time. =)

Extremely overpriced and not authentic. But, what else would you expect the tourists to eat at Disney World, right? Everything is takeout quality and is super expensive. Maybe some other people would like it, but it is not worth my money. Since our last experience here, we actually now take the time to leave the park for all of our meals and drive all the way into Orlando. I guess that my standards are too high to just eat crap. The counter style eatery around the corner is actually better and half the price and at least they have bubble tea and will speak Mandarin with you.

I expected overpriced because it's a theme park, but the food was very greasy. Blehk!! I gave an extra star to our server, whom made our dining experience a good one, even though the food sucked. (:

Excellent shrimp and noodles! Gen. Tsao chicken special was good. Had interesting appetizers: cucumber salad (spicy) and shrimp toast. $65 Gonna have to learn to make the shrimp and noodles..

Their high prices alone make it difficult to recommend Nine Dragons as a dining destination, no matter what meter stick you use to measure. As Susan R. mentioned, visit the food court if you want to feed yourself on the cheap (more reasonably, anyway) with Panda Express-esque food. Epcot has many other restaurants to splurge on, I recommend hitting up Japan or France. On the bright side, if you're traveling on your client's/company's dime, stop by Nine Dragons - the food's delish (try their pork dishes) and the interior is pretty ritzy for an upscale Chinese spot. Service is outstanding, keeping with Disney's hospitality standards. Make reservations to be safe, as it can get crowded during dinner (when I was there).

Can I give this half a star? have any of you ever had authentic asian food? The lo mein with meatballs was totally weird. First off, how the heck did the meatball sneak over from Italy? Also, how hard is it to just make some noodles taste alright? The Lo Mein was just noodles- no veggies or meat. The noodles were hard and poorly seasoned. The sweet and sour chicken tasted frozen. With my kids in Epcot, we were looking for a ice place to sit down and eat dinner. thinking that chinese food can't possibly be bad, we settled for this place. Boy did I make a mistake!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
